U Mole offer a range of hydraulically operated pipe pushing machines designed to insert polyethylene (PE) and other plastic pipes into carrier pipes with minimum effort.
Applications include the renewal of gas mains by insertion with PE pipe, slip lining old water, sewer and drainage pipe, feeding cables through ducts and removing cable from ducts.
Utilising two pairs of pipe jaws the front jaws grip and push the new pipe forward. Once at the end of the push stroke the rear jaws grip the pipe to prevent spring back and the front jaws move back to their start point to re-grip the pipe for the next pushing stroke. The rear jaws are released and the front jaws move the pipe forward again.
Suitable for a wide range of applications including dead and live insertion techniques and also to assist in rear pushing of pipes being installed by pipe bursting in sticky ground conditions the U Mole range of pipe pushers are available to cover from 50mm – 630mm as standard.
Benefits Include: -
• Lower equipment costs
• Eliminates pipe stretch
• Reversible should an obstruction be met
• Avoids waiting time prior to pipe jointing
• Lengths in excess of 500 meter possible
U Mole offer a range of hydraulic pipe pushing machines in the sizes 180mm, 315mm, 355mm, 500mm and 630mm. Each machine can be shelled down to accommodate all standard PE pipe sizes with special size shells available for non standard pipe sizes available on request.
Maximum pushing forces of 2.5 – 11 tonnes can be achieved depending on the machine size with speeds from 4 – 8 meters per minute achievable.
The machines all feature a robust design and construction to reflect the conditions they will work in, and require non skilled labour to operate. Larger machines are supplied with an integral operator hydraulic control seat due to the duration of longer pushes.
