With the benefits of reduced excavation sizes associated with the use of vacuum and suction excavation equipment being realised the development of Keyhole repair and replacement methods has moved to the fore. In this respect U Mole offer specialist Utilicor® surface coring equipment for sale or rental to the UK utility market.

Available in trailer or truck mounted format Utilicor® coring equipment is used in conjunction with Vac-Tron and MTS equipment to create small openings in roadways and paths to enable Keyhole access to underground utilities requiring location, repair or replacement.

The Utilicor is deployed from the rear of its truck or trailer mount and is utilised to remove cores up to 600mm Diameter at depths up to 650mm. Once the core is removed the utility is quickly and safely exposed by vacuum/suction excavation techniques. Once the required works are completed the excavated material is used as refill and the core repositioned in the surface floated on a specialist cement basted grout (Utilibond®).

The final reinstatement is identical in nature to the surrounding road due to the reuse of the core and the works are completed in a fraction of the time and disturbance of traditional methods.
