U Mole offer a comprehensive range of high performance vacuum and suction excavation equipment for both sale and rental from MTS & Vac-Tron.
Available with spoil capacities from .5 – 12m3 the equipment is suitable for both wet and dry excavation and for the removal of liquids and slurries or dry materials such as powders.
Predominately used for safe excavation down onto existing pipes, ducts and cables within the utility and construction industry the equipment has multiple other uses including slurry removal, industrial clean up, sewer works, rail works, petrochemical site works, etc.
Both systems create a vacuum or depression which initiates an air flow in which material can be transported to a collection tank or hopper. Material to be collected can be broken up for removal with either high pressure water or compressed air depending on prevailing ground/material conditions. Once collected the material can be tipped to site or transported to another location for re-use or disposal.
The use of the techniques within utility companies has seen a reduction in both the size of excavations (over 50% reduction) and the number of cable damages. These benefits, when taken into consideration with the environmental, traffic management and H&S impacts offer with major cost reduction potential to utility companies. These savings and benefits have lead to the development of associated systems and tooling to compliment the vacuum systems.
Keyhole technology such as Utilicor® surface coring equipment is one such system offered by U Mole which enables utilities to remove a core in road surfaces to enable fast access down onto buried utilities for repair/replacement with vacuum excavation tooling. All materials excavated are re-used in the reinstatement and the core replaced and secured after use leaving the road surface unaffected. The system offers major time and disturbance benefits to companies such as National Grid who utilise the equipment in their own Keyhole projects for repairs to leaking metallic gas joints in major cities.
